When referring to using a solid stain on your home, we suggest this for the use on cedar siding.  Use of a solid stain gives a clear coated color, allowing the natural texture of the wood to be seen.  Stain is different then paint in the fashion that stain more evenly penetrates the wood whereas paint gives a heavier layer over the wood.  There are two types of solid stains; acrylic stains and oil-based stains.  Our company mainly used an all acrylic stain because acrylic stain tends to weather better.  We can assist you in choosing the right product.
